Israel has declared it will not be a route to bypass
U.S sanctions on Russia over the invasion of
Ukraine.
Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yair Lapid, said
this on Monday, insisting that his country will not be
used as a way for Russians to bypass Western
sanctions.
Lapid spoke in Slovakia, where he reiterated Israel’s
condemnation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
He added that Israel will “do everything it can to
assist mediation efforts.”
“Israel will not be a route to bypass sanctions
imposed on Russia by the United States and other
western countries,” Lapid said.
Israel’s position came two days after the U.S called
on them to implement sanctions.
The United States said they are asking for every
democracy to join them in the financial and export
control sanctions that we have put on Russian
President Vladimir Putin.
