Man United vs Southampton
Manchester United and Southampton would face off at St
Mary’s on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils went into the game looking to continue their
fine start to the season after smashing Leeds United last time
out.
However, things did not get off to a great start for United on
the south coast. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side looked fairly
disjointed in the opening 45, with Fred, in particular, having a
poor game.
And it would be Fred who helped Southampton open the
scoring, deflecting Che Adams’ effort past David de Gea:
The second 45, however, was much better from a Man United
perspective.
United dominated proceedings with Paul Pogba and Bruno
Fernandes looking especially threatening.
The away side’s dominance in the second half was rewarded
after 55 minutes, when Paul Pogba poked the ball into the
path of Mason Greenwood who drew the score level:

Paul Pogba has now set a Premier League record.
As per Opta, Pogba – who assisted four for Man United vs
Leeds last week – is the first player in Premier League history
to register five assists after his team’s first two games of a
single season:
