Miguel, a well-known American musician, has divorced his wife, Nazanin Mandi, after 17 years of marriage.
“Miguel and Nazanin Mandi have decided to separate after 17 years of marriage and have been doing so for some time. A spokesman for the couple exclusively told PEOPLE that the couple “wishes each other well.”
The couple dated for ten years before becoming engaged in 2016, and they married in November 2018 at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Simi Valley, California.
Miguel said Hot 97 in 2015 during a radio interview about their long relationship, “I’ve come so far as a man and I’m just starting to feel solid where I can be like, ‘You know what?'” I believe I am capable of holding this position legitimately.’ People nowadays, I believe, fling things about like marriage. That’s just not how I was raised.
“I just go with my gut instincts.” I believe she has realized this and has had to adjust, learn, and embrace it. And it makes me adore her even more.”
Mandi spoke to PEOPLE earlier this year about how she and Miguel got through months of COVID confinement.
The Dreamcatcher actress stated at the time, “We were used to being near one other a lot, but we were also used to traveling a lot.” “Keeping the spark alive was absolutely something we had to keep working on — because when you’re in different cities, it’s natural to get excited [when you see each other again].”
“However, being at home [together] all the time means that we have to discover new things to watch, do, and read. It was a lot, but we did a fantastic job overall. She stated, “I have no complaints and am grateful for everything.”
