The German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock will consult with her counterparts from the G7, a group of industrialised nations on Thursday on the global consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Baerbock is to receive the foreign ministers of Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Britain and the United States (U.S.) at a hotel on the Baltic Sea in Schleswig-Holstein.
A working dinner has been planned for the evening after the talks.
According to the Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman, the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Moldova, Dmytro Kuleba and Nicu Popescu will also be present at the talks in Wangels.
The spokesperson said the ministers would discuss energy, food security and other aspects of the war, while also touching upon the relations with China and the situation in the Indo-Pacific.
In addition, the situation in Afghanistan, Africa and the Middle East as well as the joint fight against the climate crisis and the Coronavirus pandemic are on the agenda.
Germany is currently chairing the G7.
The G7 summit will take place in Bavaria from June 26 to 28.
